Optimized Gift Ask

Allegiant Direct uses a gift strategy for donor renewal and lapsed reactivation called “Optimized Gift Ask.”  We combine predictive analysis with decades of proven fundraising tactics to build an appropriate, personalized ask strategy for each donor.

With Optimized Gift Ask, specific and targeted gift amounts can be created which are unique to each donor and are based on past giving and other demographic information. Upgrades appear in both the letter text and on the reply slip.

Amounts are calculated to upgrade donors and improve retention, resulting in a range of increased performance.

Here’s an Optimized Gift Ask case study based on results from one of our clients:

The mailing was segmented into five groups...

* Active Donors (activity in the last 12 months)
* Lapsed Donors 1, 2 & 3-5 years (activity 12-60 months) 
* Major Donors (gifts of $1,000 or more)

The segments were split into two groups - one with an Optimized Gift Ask and the other with a standard gift ask (typically, most recent gift plus two upgrades).

Each group received the same copy and artwork. The ONLY difference was the gift ask.
